What are Microlights ?
There are two types of Microlight – flex wings and fixed wings. Exodus offers lessons on both.
Flex Wing
Flex wings consist of a fibreglass pod suspended underneath a hang-glider type wing. Pilot and passenger wear helmets and headsets. A flying suit is required on all but the warmest of summer days! Flex wing lessons are conducted on a 912 Quantum. This has an 80 horsepower rotax 912 engine. It offers the ultimate flexwing performance, reliability and economy. This was the first type of Microlight to be flown around the World and it has an excellent safety record.

Fixed Wing
Fixed wings are more like light aircraft. No helmet is required as the pilot sits underneath a canopy and flying suits aren’t normally needed. A brand new Eurostar EV97 was delivered in October. This is a high performance fixed wing Microlight with a maximum speed of 130mph. It has an 80 horsepower rotax 912 engine and aluminium airframe allowing for smoother and quieter flight. This gives it excellent handling qualities, high performance and a truly luxurious flight experience.
